Firefighters from Rockville and Cabin John fire companies are on the scene of a house fire in the 14800 block of River Road.

The fire was reported about 3:50 p.m. today, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Cpt. Oscar Garcia. Flames were seen coming from the roof of the two-story, single family home, Garcia said.

It took firefighters about 10 to 15 minutes to extinguish the fire in the home that had been detected in the attic, kitchen and breezeway. Firefighters are still combing the home looking for hotspots, according to Garcia.

Garcia said first-responding firefighters found all the doors locked to the home and it appeared no one was home. There are no reports of injuries and the investigation is continuing.
