Mike Huckabee Talks 2012 in North Potomac

The 2008 presidential candidate told Republicans at a lunch fundraiser he has not decided if he will run in 2012.

Mike Huckabee is not, not running for president. But he didn't come to North Potomac on Wednesday to announce his presidential bid.

The former governor of Arkansas and 2008 presidential candidate was the featured speaker of a in North Potomac on Wednesday.

He spoke to a packed living room on Amberlea Drive, at the home of Rex and Denise Reed, about taxes, and the outlook for the 2012 presidential campaign.

"We are living in some challenging times. I'm aware of the fact that it's hard, and our economy is in trouble. And I think that's largely because the leadership we currently have does not understand how the economy is supposed to work," he told the applauding crowd, who paid between $100 and $2,500 to attend.

But before anyone could ask the question, Huckabee said he has not yet decided if he plans to enter the race for president in 2012.

"I know people have been asking me if I'm going to run...and the answer is, I'm seriously contemplating and praying about it, but it's not a decision I have made," he said. "But if you read an article that says he's definitely going to run, they don't know what they're talking about. And if they say he's definitely not going to do it, they don't know what they're talking about. Anybody who's that certain is more certain than I am, because I'm not sure."

Following the lunch, Huckabee traveled back to Washington, D.C., where he was holding a fundraiser for his political action committee, Huck PAC. According to the Wall Street Journal, tickets for that event cost $1,000.
