The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County hosted its annual awards Wednesday, Feb. 1, and a North Potomac man was recognized with the organizations highest honor.

Joe Giloley -- an employee of Montgomery County’s Department of Housing and Community Affairs (DHCA) -- received the HOC's Housing Honor Roll award for his 14 years of service as Chief of the Division of Housing and Code Enforcement at DHCA where he managed the county’s Housing Initiative Fund, in addition to overseeing landlord/tenant issues, inclusionary zoning and housing code enforcement, according to a news release.

“HOC is presenting the 2012 Housing Honor Roll award to Mr. Giloley because of his long commitment to affordable housing and his support of the Housing Opportunities Commission,” said Roberto Pinero, Chair of the Housing Opportunities Commission.

“Mr. Giloley has helped HOC secure funding for numerous housing projects, both from the County’s Housing Initiative Fund and from state and federal sources. His committed support of HOC and affordable housing has made a difference in the lives of tens of thousands Montgomery County residents,” Pinero added, according to the release.
