Transit officials have said the Midcounty Corridor Study was borne out of a need to accommodate more traffic between Gaithersburg and Clarksburg.  One of the proposed routes—Alternative 4, which would turn Snouffer School, Wightman and Brink roads into a four-lane divided highway—has drawn the ire of many Upcounty residents . >>>Background: “Anger Unleashed Against 'Alternative 4'” at Montgomery Village Patch.
