Comcast Delivers Kid-Friendly Summer Programming

Whether at home or en route to a summer vacation spot, Comcast customers can enjoy an extensive selection of family-friendly On Demand programming now through Sunday, August 4, with Xfinity TV’s “Summer of Kids.”

“Summer of Kids” features access to the best TV shows and movies from every major kids network and brand available on Xfinity On Demand, as well as more than 1,000 kid-friendly choices that can be downloaded directly to tablets and smartphones and enjoyed in places where there’s no Internet connection.  The selections are included as part of a customer’s respective Xfinity Digital TV, Streampix and premium subscriptions.

Comcast will also make its nationwide network of tens of thousands of Xfinity WiFi hotspots available free to anyone with a WiFi-enabled device, including non-Comcast customers, between Monday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 31, giving families more options for streaming the best kids’ content while on-the-go.  Xfinity Internet customers have access to Xfinity WiFi hotspots year-round at no additional cost.

In addition, Comcast has launched new tools and features for safer and smarter viewing, including a parental controls microsite to help parents manage what their kids are watching on TV, online and on mobile devices.  In addition, in partnership with Common Sense Media, Xfinity TV is integrating TV show and film ratings into Xfinity.com/TV kids’ content.  Comcast is also working with Common Sense Media to let customers filter content by age group and most-watched on Xfinity On Demand.   Additionally, the Xfinity TV Player App on Apple devices now features a dedicated family and kids’ content section, making it easier than ever for parents to find what they are looking for while on-the-go.

As part of the “Summer of Kids,” families will also have the opportunity to visit Xfinity TV’s Facebook page to vote for a movie they’d like to see discounted during “Family Movie Night” weekends in July.  For details on “Summer of Kids,” customers can visit www.xfinity.com/summerofkids.
