Buffing and Polishing: The Art of Rewriting

Find out what's happening in North Potomac-Darnestownwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

You've finally finished your manuscript and now you're ready to tell Oprah all about it. Not so fast! The best writing is rewriting. At this month’s meeting of the MWA’s Montgomery County chapter, Wednesday, April 9, 2014, 7 to 9 p.m., join former CNN editor and mystery novelist John DeDakis for an interactive workshop on the art of revisions.

You’ll learn practical ways to put your writing on a flab-burning diet so that your copy is tight, trim, and hot—and all without ever stepping onto a treadmill. A portion of the session will be a writing lab, so be sure to bring pen and paper.

The meeting will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 205 South Summit Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD 20877, downstairs in the main building. Just follow the signs. You can find directions to the church at http://www.ascensionmd.org/directions-2.

Guests are asked to park in any open space in the lot surrounding Ascension House, the lot surrounding the main church building, or in the neighboring high school lot.
