Buses Replace Metro Trains on Red Line Segment

This weekend, a portion of the Red Line will be closed for track work, and free shuttle buses will replace trains.

Taking the Red Line to or from Silver Spring, Takoma Park or Fort Totten this weekend will take a little longer than usual.

"Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, July 6, and continuing through system closing on Sunday, July 8, buses will replace Red Line trains between Brookland-CUA and Silver Spring to allow for tie and insulator renewal, bridge repair and communication system improvements," according to Metro's website.

Throughout the weekend, the Takoma Station will be closed, and the Fort Totten Station will be open for Green Line service only.
