Then and Now: Wootton Homecoming

High School celebrates its 40th anniversary this weekend

Thomas Wootton High School is celebrating its 40th anniversary this week. Students and faculty have been poring over old yearbooks and photos from the school's four decades of history. The school is hosting a 40th Celebration Festival on Saturday, Oct. 23 for past, current and future students and their families. The event will include marching band performances, historical exhibits, the presentation of a time capsule and school tours.

In honor of the anniversary celebration, we focused on the Wootton Homecoming event for this week's Then and Now feature. Wootton held their annual homecoming football game this year on Friday, October 15.

While dress and style have changed since the 1970s, the Patriot mascot has remained a central figure at Wootton Homecoming.
