Bites Nearby: Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Local hamburger shop with all the trimmings for a great burger

Nothing says Fourth of July like a good, old-fashioned, all-American hamburger. Five Guys is just that hamburger.

Five Guys can boast local roots with the first Five Guys opening in Arlington, Virginia in 1986. In 2002 their burger business expanded beyond the D.C. metro area to franchises throughout Virginia and Maryland and can now be found in over 40 states and Canada.

At Five Guys, your burger is made fresh to order; watch it while you wait. Choose the burger, will it be a hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon burger or bacon cheeseburger? Regular size or little? Then choose from the list of toppings to fulfill your plan for the perfect burger—onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, grilled mushrooms, jalapenos, ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, etc.

And while no burger is truly complete without the fries, Five Guys’ fries are not to be missed.

Five Guys uses only fresh ground beef, never frozen. The menu is trans-fat free and only peanut oil is used. To avoid long lines for a timely burger, you can place your order via cell phone or on-line. Check the website for details: www.fiveguys.com

It would not be too un-American if you opted for one of Five Guys hot dogs or grilled cheese sandwiches. But Uncle Sam would surely delight in a Five Guys burger for this holiday celebration, and you will too.

Five Guys is located in the Kentlands Shopping Center at 653 Center Point Way. Open daily 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
