Bites Nearby: Yuraku Japanese Restaurant

A small local sushi spot with a huge reputation for great sushi.

Get in line, sushi lovers, it is worth the wait.

Yuraku Japanese Restaurant in Germantown has a lunch buffet that attracts sushi lovers from far and wide. This small restaurant tucked away in the back corner of Fox Chapel Shopping Center could go unnoticed except for the line of patrons stretching out the door at lunch time.

For $12.95, the all-you-can-eat sushi lunch buffet is the main attraction. Everything is prepared fresh on the premises, but specific items vary from day to day.

With more than 20 kinds of sushi beautifully arrayed on large platters, your eyes quickly become bigger than your stomach.

Choose from the sushi spectrum—rolls of spicy salmon, tuna, smoked salmon, eel, crab, flounder. Have your fill of California rolls, Philadelphia rolls, or how about Japanese bagel rolls (smoked salmon, cream cheese, avocado).

Don’t pass by the buffet without trying at least one of the tempura sushi rolls (lightly battered, fried and delicious).

And if sushi is not in your food vocabulary, Yuraku has another buffet table just for you that features some familiar Japanese/Asian fare such as beef teriyaki, rice, BBQ pork spareribs and chicken, tempura vegetables, Japanese noodles, cold salads, miso soup and much more.

If you are a sushi lover and you don’t know about Yuraku’s lunch buffet, consider yourself informed. You can thank us later.
