Patch Picks: Five Places To Celebrate St. Patrick's Day
A look at five local restaurants offering drink and food specials in honor of the Irish holiday.
Whether you show your Irish spirit by wearing green, doing a jig or taking a swig, we have five places for you to celebrate this St. Patrick's Day.
1. : In addition to their vast selection of homebrews, Dogfish Head will be serving Irish specialities for St. Patrick's Day.
2. : Your favorite neighborhood sports bar is expecting a large crowd. Get there early for drinks and appetizers specials from 3 to 7 p.m. and stay for a traditional Irish meal of cornbeef and cabbage.

3. : Wearing green will get you more than just a guarantee you won't be pinched on St. Patrick's Day at this local Irish Pub. Anyone wearing green or wearing an O'Malley's t-shirt that arrives between 4 and 5:30 p.m. will get a free corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and cooked carrots. The party continues until 11 p.m. with a D.J. and Guiness Stew.
4. Irish Inn at Glen Echo: Travel a little further down county for this authentic Irish St. Patrick's Day experience. The live traditional Irish music begins at 3 p.m. and continues until close. The 19th street band will make a special appearance at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a two-course lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for $25 per person or a two-course dinner from 4 to 10 p.m. for $35 per person. Reservations are required.

5. : If you're looking for an all-day party, this is a good place to settle in. This Rockville gastropub will be opening it's tented porch at 4 p.m. with live music from Jamie Lynch until 7 p.m. Jamison & Double O Soul will play from 8:30 to 12:30 a.m. There is a cover. Buy tickets in advance online for $7 or $10 at the door.
