Twice As Warm Meets First Goal, Donates To Needy

Brian Lieberman donated 50 hats, gloves and scarves in Washington, D.C. at the end of February.

Snow and freezing temperatures can be a dangerous and sometimes deadly combination for those without consistent shelter. But thanks to the work of one Rockville resident and recent graduate, fifty needy people in Washington, D.C. are a little warmer this winter.

Brian Lieberman earlier this year with a goal to sell fifty hats, gloves and scarves and give away the equivalent to those in need. And it worked. Within just a few months, Lieberman met his goal around the holiday season.

On Feb. 20, Lieberman teamed up with Washington DC JCC and traveled to Washington's Franklin Square Park to deliver the items to those in need.

On his blog, Lieberman described his experience at this first giving event.

"It felt so good to be able to help these people. I can’t accurately put the feeling into words," Lieberman wrote. "It felt so good to be able to make an impact on the lives of others."
