Why Don't You Say Something?

How is it voters and taxpayers in Montgomery County are so satisfied with the government we are getting for our money? We pay top dollar taxes - so high in fact that we struggle to compete with our neighbors in Fairfax or even Prince George's and Loudon counties - and the services we receive from Montgomery County and the state of Maryland are, ahem, atrocious.  

You can expect to read here over the weeks and months many examples of "atrocious" but suffice it to say, I'm fed up and I don't think throwing more money at our problems will bring about improvement. We need to change our frame of reference and change our way of thinking about problems in order to begin addressing them effectively... and change will not come easily and will not come if we don't ask for it.  

For the record - I'm a non-partisan, equal-opportunity government critic. Around here that gets me painted Red by default, but the truth is, I've never had anyone disagree with me once we boil the debate down to the facts.
