2. . Children with disabilities will be able to play baseball in a safe environment on a specially-designed field of cushioned synthetic turf. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:15 a.m., 17950 Germantown Park Drive in Germantown.

3. Beginning today Maryland drivers can take advantage of , which runs through Jan. 27, 2012. If you have outstanding tickets, you can pay that ticket at its face value—no late fees. Do I hear a sigh of relief?

5. On this day in 1961, amusement park enthusiasts were over the moon as Six Flags Over Texas, the first park in the Six Flags chain, opened on 212 acres in Arlington, TX. The park was the first to feature log flume and mine train rides. During its first year, admission cost $2.75 for an adult and $2.25 for a child. A hamburger sold for 50 cents and a soda cost just 10 cents. Can you believe that?
