Happy Monday, North Potomac and Darnestown. To quench your thirst for informative tidbits, here's today's list of five things you need to know:

1. Believe it or not, the National Weather Service is forecasting a high of only 91 degrees today. Ah, a brief cooling trend (crazy, I know) before the temperatures rise later in the week. A chance of precipitation is 60 percent after 1 p.m.

2. If you didn't hear the woeful news about Borders, now is the time to visit your local Borders, Borders Express or Waldenbooks and save up to 40 percent off during the Going Out of Business sale. The closet locations are: 7101 Democracy Boulevard in Bethesda and 20926 Frederick Road in Germantown.

3. What would summer be without baseball, cool beverages and classic American fare? How about checking out minor league team the Frederick Keys? The team is playing at home this week.

4. The Bethesda Outdoor Movies are screening this week at 9 p.m. in Woodmont Triangle at the corner of Norfolk and Auburn avenues in downtown Bethesda. The 80s film classic, The Breakfast Club, kicks off the annual event Tuesday, July 26. Bring a blanket or comfy chair and enjoy an evening under the stars.

5. On this day in 1952, Puerto Rico became a self-governing commonwealth of the United States. Photographer Elliott Erwitt's 1950s ad campaign for Ogilvy & Mather—one of the seminal campaigns from the "Mad Men" era—captures the island's beguiling charm. Erwitt returned in 2010 to recapture it's timeless appeal.
