Welcome back from your Thanksgiving break. We hope you had a wonderful holiday with family and friends! Here are five useful things to help ease you back into the regular week:

1. It seriously cannot be said enough. What's up with this amazing weather? We're closing in on December, but today is another sunny day with high temperatures around 65 degrees. It'll be cool early, but bust out the shorts and sandals in the afternoon if you please.

2. Don't miss teenagers from Montgomery County schools competing to be the best at the tonight at the Music Center at the Strathmore Music Hall, Montgomery County’s premiere stage.

3. Members of the Wootton community are invited to attend a meeting tonight with the state Senators and Delegates of the 15th, 17th, and 39th districts. The meeting with start at 7 p.m. in the media center and will feature conversation about issues that will affect education, our schools, and our children in the next legislative session in Annapolis.

4. In case you missed it: Led by running back Mark Green's career high 279 rushing yards and two touchdowns, the Quince Orchard Cougars advance to the Maryland 4A Division state championship by defeating C.H. Flowers in a Black Friday semifinal, 23-12.
