Get Out: What To Do This Weekend, July 8-10

Miniature golf, magic show, comedy, boat rides or circus exhibit...something for young and old alike.

Don't let the heat keep you too close to home this weekend. Here are some suggestions for things to do in and around North Potomac and Darnestown this weekend.

1. "What in the World!" Magic Performed by Mike Rose

Where/When: Quince Orchard Library, 15831 Quince Orchard Rd., Gaithersburg, July 9 from 2-2:45 p.m.

Why Go: Magician Mike Rose performs culturally unique magic tricks that will take the audience on an imaginary trip highlighting the types of magic that have been performed in each of the seven continents. Not only will the audience be entertained with hilarious and amazing magic, but Mike will feature cultural facts and tidbits along the way.

2.  Couples Day Miniature Golf

Where/When: Bohrer Park, 514 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg, July 10 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: This beautifully landscaped mini-golf course in a park setting is a great place to bring your family and friends for a fun outing. A great activity for kids of all ages.

Price: Couples Day Special, two for the price of one. Resident $5/game, Non-resident $6/game.

3. "The Circus Show" Exhibit

Where/When: Photoworks Gallery at Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd, Glen Echo, July 9, 1-4 p.m. and July 10, 1-8 p.m.

Why Go: Photoworks presents “The Circus Show," an exhibition of photographs exploring the wonder, magic, and mystery of the circus. The show includes works by August Sander, Lusha Nelson, Bruce Davidson, Benita Keller, Tom Cheche, Gayle Rothschild, Frank Van Riper, Victoria Gewirz, and Frank Herrara.

4. Laugh Riot at the Hyatt

Where/When: Hyatt Regency Bethesda, 7400 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, July 9, 8-10 p.m.

Why Go: Live Stand-up Comedy ... because everyone needs to laugh!

Where/When: Seneca Creek State Park, 11950 Clopper Rd., North Potomac, July 9 & 10, 1-3 p.m.

Why Go: Take a moment to relax and enjoy the beauty of our very own Seneca Creek State Park.

Price: $2 per person.
