Update, 5:15 p.m.: Pepco's Storm Center is currently reporting less than five outages in the 20878 Zip code.

Update, 4:05 p.m.: Nearly six hours after first reporting this story, only 150 Pepco customers in the 20878 ZIP code remain without power. Less than 5 customers in Zip code 20874 are still experiencing power outages.

Update, 2:45 p.m.: Pepco customers in the 20878 ZIP code continue to experience outages; 940 customers — down from 1,434 at 11: 24 a.m. — are still without power.

Update, 11:24 a.m.: Pepco's Storm Center is currently reporting 1,434 outages in the 20878 Zip code. Over 1,000 Pepco customers are without power in neighboring Zip code 20874.

Original Post, 9:48 a.m.: Nearly 1,000 people were out of power in the 20878 ZIP code on Saturday morning.

Although the skies are blue, a wind advisory was in effect through Friday night, and a high wind warning remains in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday. Northwest winds are 20 to 30 mph, with wind gusts up to 60 mph. 

The 936 outages reported by Pepco's Storm Center, include the Jones Lane neighborhood. Just three days ago, the residents of this area to complain about frequent outages. Pepco representatives told residents they would .
