Patch Picks: Five Places To Spend Valentine's Day

Five restaurants offering specials and fixed-menus for Valentine's Day.

With love and romance in the air, our this week is all about Valentine's Day. We have found five local places to spend the day with someone you love. It could be your spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, best friend, son, mother, daughter or brother. We'll leave that decision up to you.

  1.  : Okay so you didn't make it to Paris for Valentine's Day, but this classical French restaurant on Kentlands Main Street is the next best thing. Celebrate romance and endulge in their four-course set menu for $65 per person. Reservations are suggested.
  2. : Grab your valentine and take a trip to Morocco, without even crossing I-270! This Kentlands restaurant is offering a full four-course fixed menu for $59.95 per couple (i.e. $30/person) -- you get carrots, hummus, salad, a choice of meat or veggie entree and a choice of dessert. There will also be live music, starting at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.
  3. : A great place to show your loved ones how much you care, by giving them lots (and we mean lots) of food. In honor of Valentine's Day Buca di Beppo is reminding customers that their food is "great for sharing" and "love means never having to say you're hungry." Book early for the special table inside the kitchen.
  4. : This well-known, romantic destination restaurant in Potomac is a great option for anyone willing to spend a few extra dollars on their valentine this year. Their extensive four-course Valentine's Day menu is $125 per person. Be sure to save room for champagne, truffles and a special gift presentation at the end of the meal.
  5. Againn Tavern: For a more casual, but still special meal visit this upscale gastropub in Rockville. Their four-course menu includes a mix of fish, meat and of course champagne and is priced at $50 per couple. This is a great option if you want to celebrate before the 14th, their Valentine's Day menu will be available Feb. 11 - 14. Note: They are also offering an extended happy hour "Anti-Valentine's Day" event. For singles looking to avoid the couples, Againn says: "We guarantee there will be no cheesy, obnoxious romantic clichés...okay, well maybe a little cheese."
