PHOTO GALLERY: Families Gather at Temple Beth Ami for a Holiday Purim Carnival and Cafe

Temple Beth Ami celebrates the holiday Purim with a day full of games, activities and food.

Families gathered at Temple Beth Ami on Sunday afternoon for the annual Carnival and Café celebrating the holiday Purim. Purim celebrates the events described in the biblical book of Ester marking the victory of Queen Ester and her cousin Mordecai over Haman, the prime minister for King Ahashuerus and his plot to kill all the Jews of Persia.

As a tradition, children were invited to dress up in masks and costumes for the carnival celebration featuring activities games and food.

Temple Beth Ami donated money made from the carnival to a local charity and also held a food bank donation that would be sent to Manna Food Center.
