VIDEO: Reptiles at the Quince Orchard Library

The Quince Orchard Chapter of Friends of the Library sponsored the Reptile Alive presentation on Tuesday afternoon.

Quince Orchard Library had some unusual guests on Tuesday afternoon.

Turtles, lizards, baby crocodiles and a albino python all made an appearance in the library meeting room. They were brought to the library by Reptiles Alive, an educational live animal show that travels throughout the D.C. area.

Through a mix of performance and demonstrations, the Reptiles Alive representative described special traits of each animal to the more than 60 kids and parents packed into the room.

The event is one of a series of animal focused educational events hosted by Quince Orchard chapter of Friends of the Library this spring.

"Programs like this don't come from County funding," said Linda Raden, president of the Quince Orchard friends  of the library chapter. "They are made possible by friends of the library."
