Get Out: Weekend Picks for Nov. 11-13

This weekends picks include seasonal arts events at Quince Orchard High School and Bullis.

Where/When: Saturday, November 12, 07:00 pm at the Blair Family Center for the Arts on the Bullis campus, 10601 Falls Road, Potomac.

What: Enjoy an evening out in Potomac with the whole family.  Join Bullis School for the first Jazz Cafe of the year, featuring the music of the Bullis Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Workshop Combo. Guest performance from the 8 Ohms Band, a horn-heavy,funk and soul collective from Annapolis. Drawing from diverse musical backgrounds, the 8 Ohms bring together an eclectic mix of feel-good sounds and hard grooves to keep the dance floor moving.

2. Bethesda Art Walk

Where/When: 6-9p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at downtown Bethesda art galleries.

What: Downtown Bethesda art galleries will stay open late to showcase the work of regional, national and international artists.

Price: Free

Where/When: Silver Spring Civic Center located at One Veterans Place on Friday, Nov. 11 from 11 a.m to noon.

What: The free dedication ceremony is part of a schedule of activities planned for the day to honor veterans and their families. The Silver Spring Town Center, Inc., and the Commission on Veterans Affairs will host the fourth annual “Tribute to America’s Veterans” concert at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Silver Spring Civic Building.

Price: The ceremony is free but tickets for the concert are $20.

4. Quince Orchard: Noises Off

Where/When: Quince Orchard High School, Saturday, Nov. 12 in the school auditorium at 7 p.m.

What: Quince Orchard High School presents its fall seasonal production, Noises Off.

Price: $8 for students, $12 for adults

Where/When: Chevy Chase United Methodist Church (7001 Connecticut Ave., Chevy Chase, MD), Saturday, Nov. 12, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What: The Chevy Chase United Methodist Church is holding a Christmas Bazaar with face painting, photos with Santa, a bake shop, chili and cornbread, special performances for children and jewelry, crafts, attic treasures, children's clothing and more for sale. The bazaar will raise money for several charities. Read the online flier for more information.

Price: Free to enter the bazaar.
