Getting Tough on Drug Crime in Damascus

Montgomery County Council honors police Drug Market Initiative aimed at stopping drug activity at Damascus Gardens.

On Tuesday, the Montgomery County Council honored efforts to improve the quality of life at Damascus Gardens apartment complex, where drug crime had been a major problem. Over the past two years, Montgomery County police implemented its Drug Market Initiative program aimed at stopping drug activity at Damascus Gardens.

is t about time ! when I lived up there 20 years ago there was one apartment project right next to ours that had an open air drug market that was only shut down when the police came around and then only for a very short time the drug dealers seemed to know when to roll in the carpets and close up for business like they had someone letting them know when to operate, it gets to the point where you know its time to move.
