FBI Needs Public's Help To Find Potomac River Rapist

The search for man suspected of raping seven women in Montgomery County in the 1990s is revived and the FBI needs residents' help.

It's been more than a decade since Montgomery County and DC women feared an attack by a man dubbed the Potomac River Rapist, but the FBI is hoping to revive the search for the suspect, according to the Gazette.

The man is suspected of raping seven women in Montgomery County, including North Potomac, and attacking an eighth victim between 1991 and 1997. He's also suspected of raping and killing another woman, 29-year-old Christine Mirzayan, in DC in 1998.  Described as a black male, between 5 feet and 8 to 11 inches tall and medium build, he would now be in his 40s or 50s.

Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the Potomac River Rapist case.
