Gaithersburg Crime: 16 Vehicle-Related Thefts, Residential Burglary and More

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Montgomery County Police released a crime summary for Sept. 10 through Sept. 18. The following incidents were reported in Gaithersburg:

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred outside of 18407 Lost Knife Circle on Friday, Sept. 14, around 11:20 p.m. The suspect attacked the victim and removed property.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 400 block of Blue Silk Lane on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 17700 block of Hazelcrest Drive on Saturday, Sept. 15. The suspect is known to the victim.
  • A garage burglary occurred in the 10500 block of Mercado Way sometime between Saturday, Sept. 15 and Tuesday, Sept. 18. Property was taken.
  • A commercial burglary and vehicle theft occurred between Tuesday, Sept. 11 and Wednesday, Sept. 12 at The Care of Trees, located at 8000 Queenair Drive. Entry was forced and property was taken.
  • A theft from vehicle and stolen vehicle occurred overnight between Tuesday, Sept. 11 and Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Garden Part Rentals, located at 8500 Anniversary Circle.
  • Five of the six vehicle-related thefts occurred in the 17000 block of Stoneridge Drive on Thursday, Sept. 13, between midnight and 1 a.m. All of the vehicles were unlocked and loose items, including cash and an iPod, were stolen.
  • Five of the six vehicle-related thefts occurred on Thursdy, Sept. 13, between 1:30 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. GPS units were taken from two of the five vehicles which were parked on Bannister Court and Glendower Road. Another vehicle was located on Severn Terrace.
  • Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 19200 block of Racine Court overnight between Monday, Sept. 10 and Tuesday, Sept. 11. Entry to the cars was forced. DVD monitors and a GPS unit were taken.
