Police Respond to Email Bomb Threat at Wootton High School

The email was determined to be a low-level threat.

Police were called to Wednesday night, after the school received a bomb threat via email.

The email claimed there was an explosive device inside the school and would go off at 10 a.m. on Thursday, said Montgomery County police spokesman Cpl. Dan Friz.

In a notice to parents, Wootton Principal Michael Doran said they immediately consulted with school security who determined it was a low-level threat.

The school called police at 8:37 p.m. Fire and rescue crews responded and conducted a thorough search of the building. Nothing was found.

School operated as usual on Thursday. Police are investigating the source of the email.
