Police To Hold Community Meeting Regarding Home Burglaries

Montgomery County and Gaithersburg City police will meet with the North Potomac community at Dufief Elementary School tonight at 7:30.

Montgomery County and Gaithersburg City police will meet with members of the North Potomac community Thursday night in regard to recent attempted home burglaries in the area, Montgomery County police spokeswoman Angela Cruz said.

The meeting is at Dufief Elementary School and begins at 7:30 p.m.

In the recent crime summary for the week of Feb. 13 to Feb. 21, Montgomery County police reported two residential burglaries and one incident of larceny from vehicles. They released the following details from those incidents:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 14900 block of Chestnut Ridge Court in North Potomac between 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 and noon on Sunday, Feb. 19. Entry was forced and nothing was taken.
  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 14300 block of Cartright Way in North Potomac on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 5:39 p.m. There was an attempted forced entry and nothing was taken.
    • Two suspects: Both hispanic males, one estimated 20- to 30-years old wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

Cruz did not release any additional information and told Patch the issue will be addressed at the meeting.
