Bowie City Councilman Donates Salary to Improve Playground

Bowie Councilman Isaac Trouth donates $10,000 Council salary to improve the playground at Pointer Ridge Elementary.

Giving back to the community has long been a priority of Bowie City Councilman Isaac Trouth (District 4), and when he saw an opportunity to support a local school he jumped at the chance.

Pointer Ridge Elementary, route: {:controller=>"listings", :action=>"show", :id=>"pointer-ridge-elementary-school"} --> was in need of a resurfaced playground. The blacktop where the kids played was cracked and breaking apart. Trouth, who has long been dedicated to education along with his wife, a retired school teacher, wanted to help. He decided to donate his entire $10,000 Council salary to the project.

“I didn’t need the salary to support me so my goal was to put the Council salary back into the community,” said Trouth.

All that money they just poured into the new police cars with the new police design that is WRONG and will have to pay to have the cars re-striped. A state of the art new city hall and police station and a lone council member had to donate his salary so a school in the city could be refurbished. What is wrong with the city priorities? Kudos to you Mr. Trouth.
