County Council Committee to Discuss Pepco's Tree-Trimming Program

On Monday, the Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy and Environment Committee will discuss the program.

The Montgomery County Council's Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy and Environment Committee will meet at 2 p.m. Monday to discuss Pepco's tree-trimming program.

As part of Pepco's plans to improve reliability, the utility has been cutting down mature trees in the county because they were diseased, decayed or were seen as a threat to power lines because tree limbs were rubbing against each other.

The tree-trimming was supposed to resume on July 9, once the moratorium was lifted.
