Report: Darnestown Man Sues County Officials Over 2011 Fire

The Gazette: Man says Montgomery County officials are withholding information about a 2011 brush fire that destroyed his property.

A Darnestown-area man is suing county officials for withholding information about a 2011 brush fire that destroyed his shed and damaged his neighbors’ property, The Gazette reported.

Don Buck, who lives on Brandon Way Road on the border of Gaithersburg and Darnestown, sued County Executive Isiah Leggett, along with former Fire and Rescue Chief Richard Bowers and Assistant Chief Scott Graham, according to the report.

Buck says the officials are not giving him and his neighbors access to information about the Seneca Creek fire that damaged their property, according to the report.

County lawyers asked a Montgomery County Circuit Court judge to dismiss the suit, and MCFRS officials say Buck has already been provided with all the information they have, The Gazette reported.
