Germantown Students Graduate from Bowie State University
BOWIE, MD—Three Germantown residents received degrees from Bowie State University on December 21, 2012. They were among 415 students to graduate during the Winter 2012 Commencement. The students and their respective degrees are:

  • Michelle Harris, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology.
  • Alyson Privitera, received a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling.
  • Mark Scott, received a Master of Public Administration degree  

Antonia Y. Francis of Germantown Named to McDaniel College Dean's List
WESTMINSTER, MD—Antonia Y. Francis of Germantown has been named to the McDaniel College fall 2012 Dean's List with Honors. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 average.

Germantown Students Make Dean's List at Mount St. Mary's University
EMMITSBURG, MD—Mount St. Mary's University is pleased to announce 555 students who earned dean's list honors for the fall 2012 semester. They Include:

  • Helena Hernandez ,a sophomore from Germantown and the daughter of Ms. Maria Hernandez
  • Erin McGuire, a freshman from Germantown and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McGuire
  • Anna Morey, a sophomore from Germantown and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Morey
  • Natalia Quintana, a freshman from Germantown and the daughter of Ms. Carmen Feliciano

Joanna Shockey of Germantown Makes Dean's List at Lebanon Valley College
ANNVILLE, PA—Joanna R. Shockey of Germantown was named to the fall 2012 dean's list at Lebanon Valley College. Shockey is a junior health science major. Dean's list students must maintain a grade point average of 3.4 or above on a 4-point scale. Shockey is a graduate of Poolesville Middle-Senior High School.

Laura Stall Qualified for Dean's List at The University of Akron
AKRON, OH — Laura Stall of Germantown made the Dean's List at The University of Akron for the fall semester. Stall is majoring in Political Science. To be eligible for Dean's List, Stall maintained a GPA of 3.25 or higher and was enrolled in 12 or more credit hours.

Rachel Cohen of Germantown Named to the University of Hartford Dean's List
WEST HARTFORD, CT—The University of Hartford is pleased to announce Rachel Cohen of Germantown has been named to its Dean's List for Fall 2012.

Shawn E. Saiya Named to The University of Rhode Island Dean's List
KINGSTON, RI—The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that Shawn E. Saiya of Germantown, was among nearly 5,000 named to the Dean's List.

To be included on the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

Sam Sherman Makes the Fall 2012 Dean's List at Wake Forest University
WINSTON SALEM, NC — Sam Sherman, a resident of Darnestown, was among more than 1,900 students from Wake Forest University who made the Fall 2012 Dean's List.

Christian Quattrociocchi Earns Dean's Award at Colgate University
HAMILTON, NY—Christian Quattrociocchi was a recipient of the Dean's Award for academic excellence during the 2012 fall term at Colgate University, where Quattrociocchi is a member of the Class of 2016.

To be eligible for the Dean's Award, a Colgate student must achieve higher than a 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses. Quattrociocchi is a graduate of Northwest High School in Germantown.
