Over 700 people attended Wootton's gala event, honoring Mr. Stan Brodsky's theater legacy at Wootton and benefiting a struggling arts program.

The Patrons of the Arts hosted a Broadway Gala "Opening Night," Saturday, Oct. 15. With a program struggling to maintain its reputation as one of the finest in Montgomery County due to serious budget contraints, the gala event featured performances by Wootton alum and celebrated Broadway and television actress Cicily Daniels, along with Wootton’s acappella groups, Supertonics, Acabellas and Chaos.

Daniels, who was an original cast member of Broadway’s The Little Mermaid and appears on ABC’s Ugly Betty, performed selections from her acclaimed one woman concert.

Over 700 people attended the event, Patrons boardmember and Gala director Sharon Stein wrote in an email. The event also honored Mr. Stanley Brodsky, Wootton's distinguished former theatre director.
