QO, Churchill Students To Appear in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

The pair joins one other Montgomery County student in New York City's Thanksgiving parade tomorrow morning.

Two of the three Montgomery County students performing in Thursday's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City come from Quince Orchard and Churchill High Schools, according to a report in the Gazette.

"Rachel Sze, 17, a senior at ...will be in the Macy's Great American Marching Band, an elite ensemble featuring high school band students from each state and Washington," the report said.

Sze will be playing the trombone.

In addition, 15-year-old Churchill freshman Kathryn Kunkle "will perform in the parade’s opening number with students from Stagedoor Manor, a teen performance workshop in New York where she attends summer camp," the report said.

"I am so excited and a little bit nervous — it’s scary being on national television," Kunkle told the Gazette about her upcoming appearance.
