Aggregate Industries Mid Atlantic Donates To Quince Orchard Library

Richard Freeman presented a check to the Quince Orchard Friends of the Library chapter on Tuesday.

For more than ten years Aggregate Industries Mid Atlantic Region, which operates a plant in North Potomac, has donated money to the Quince Orchard Friends of the Library chapter.

This year was no different.

On Tuesday, Richard Freedman, Regional Environmental Land Services Manager at Aggregate, presented a check for $1,500 to Linda Raden, the president of the Quince Orchard Friends of the Library chapter.

"We like to contribute to something worthwhile in our community," Freedman told Patch. "It's just something we do."

Aggregate Industries' Mid Atlantic Region has a ready mixed concrete plant at 13900 Piney Meetinghouse Road. Freedman said many in the company, himself included, benefit personally from the library.

"We are lucky to have the library here for a lot of reasons," he said.

In past years, Freedman has presented a check to the library for as much $5,000, on behalf of Aggregate. In more economically challenging years, the amount has been less. But, Freedman said, the company always makes a donation and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
