Meet Your Neighbor: Richard Etches

A British transplant, brass rubbings expert and Quince Orchard Library volunteer.

Originally from the London suburbs, transplanted himself and his family of six to the Washington, D.C. suburbs in 1978. After a successful career teaching workshops on brass rubbings at the National Cathedral and touring around the U.S., Etches is now spending his retirement years volunteering at the Quince Orchard Library Conversation Club. Once a week he meets with fellow immigrants who have recently arrived in the area and helps them to develop their English skills.

North Potomac-Darnestown Patch stopped by the on a recent Tuesday to speak with him.
