Roots rock artist performs Thursday, Nov. 15, as part of the Third Thursday Bistro series
Washington-area roots rocker Patty Reese will head to Germantown next week for monthly music series at BlackRock Center of the Arts. Reese’s Thursday night show Nov. 15 is part of the venue’s Third Thursday Bistro series. The venue is touting her as a local favorite and her 11 Washington Area Music Association awards—“Album of the Year,” “Artist of the Year” and “Roots Rock Vocalist of the Year”—add to her local roots rock resume. John Hammond booked for 2013 show.
Grammy-award winning bluesman John Hammond has booked a 2013 date at BlackRock Center for the Arts, as part of a tour coordinated by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation. The Jersey City acoustic blues guitarist is scheduled to perform April 26, 2013, the Mid Atlantic Foundation announced Friday. Hammond is a 2011 inductee into the Blues Hall of Fame. His most recent release, Rough & Tough, earned him a 2010 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album. He was one of several artists featured on Blues Explosion, the 1984 Grammy Award winner for Best Traditional Blues Recording. Other artists on the Mid Atlantic Tour program include Red Baraat, a North Indian rhythm out fit set for a Nov. 30, 2012 show at Prince Geoerge’s Publick …
