Police: Colleen Nicole Bell, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene
A Germantown woman was killed in a crash early Saturday after her car struck a taxi, spun 180 degrees and crashed into a tree. Colleen Nicole Bell, 20, of the 19100 block of Highstream Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene, Montgomery County Police said. The call was dispatched at around 2:30 a.m. According to police, Bell was driving north on Mateny Road, but as she entered the intersection of Mateny and Clopper Roads, she struck a Regency cab travelling east on Clopper. Police said her Honda Civic spun 180 degrees, veered off the road and struck a tree. The cab driver was injured but was not transported, police said. The crash is still being investigated.

A Rockville man died Saturday morning after he lost control and skied into a tree at Wisp Resort in McHenry, The Washington Post reported. The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office said James Jung-Jin Park was skiing with two friends at the Garrett County resort when he was killed, WHAG-TV in Hagerstown reported. Michael Kim, a friend and business associate of Park’s, told The Post the 40-year-old Park was on a family ski trip with his wife and two children when he died. Park had been wearing a helmet, Kim told The Post. Kim said Park emigrated from South Korea when Park was a boy, settling in Northern Virginia, The Post reported. Montgomery County police have identified five people taken to the hospital after a six-vehicle crash on Rockville Pike in Rockville on Friday. A Rockville man suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident, which closed Rockville Pike for nearly seven hours. For reasons still under investigation, a Volkswagen Tiguan traveling southbound in the 1200 block of Rockville Pike near Templeton Place around 10:28 a.m. crossed into northbound lanes, police said in a news release. Collision occurred near Dawson Farm Road
Due to an accident involving a school bus and a car, the northbound lane of Great Seneca Highway has been shut down at Dawson Farm Road, Montgomery County police said. The accident occurred at 3:52 p.m. Wednesday, MCP spokeswoman Blanca King told Patch. Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesman Scott Grahm said he had not received reports of serious injuries related to the incident. There was no information on whether there were students on the bus.

A 66-year-old woman died.
(Updated 8:18 p.m.) A two-car crash that killed a 66-year-old woman Monday in Clarksburg was weather-related, The Washington Post reports. Crash occurred at Little Seneca Parkway and Frederick Roads in Clarksburg
(Updated 11:20 a.m.) CLARKSBUG — Four people were seriously injured in a crash in Clarksburg on Tuesday morning, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Asst. Chief Scott Graham told Patch. Around 7:22 a.m., emergency rescuers were dispatched to Little Seneca Parkway and Frederick Road, near Rocky Hill Middle School, to respond to a two-vehicle collision, according to Graham. Rescuers had to free an adult motorist from an overturned vehicle. Two children had to be flown to the hospital, Graham said. According to Graham, the crash victims were seriously injured, but those injuries were not considered life threatening. (Updated 11:45 p.m.) An off-duty police officer helping at the scene of a crash was struck by a vehicle that slid off a Germantown off-ramp Tuesday, according to police. Montgomery County Police Officer Fabio Chung was on the ramp from eastbound Route 118 onto southbound Interstate 270 when another vehicle slid off the roadway and struck him and his unmarked cruiser, Montgomery County Police said in a press release late Tuesday. Police said Chung was treated at an area hospital. No other injuries were reported from the scene, police said. A 24-year-old Germantown man was killed Monday after a collision at the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Longdraft Road.
Update (9:35 p.m.): A 24-year-old Germantown man was killed Monday after his motorcycle collided with the side door of a vehicle trying to make a left turn on to Great Seneca Highway from Longdraft Road, Montgomery County police said. The victim, Michael George Balcom, of the 13200 block of Wonderland Way, was traveling on northbound Great Seneca Highway on his 2001 Suzuki SV650s motorcycle when a 1998 BMW 528i attempted to turn on to the road in front of Balcom, police said. The motorcycle collided with the passenger side door of the BMW, and Balcom was thrown from the motorcycle. UPDATED, 6:36 p.m.: Quince Orchard Road was closed in both directions Friday afternoon after a school bus struck a Pepco utility poll at the Bank Street intersection, Montgomery County Police Chief Paul Starks said. No one was injured in the collision—which occurred shortly after noon—and no passengers were on the bus, Starks said.
