Photo of the Day: The Montgomery County Fair

The 64th Annual Montgomery County Fair opens August 10.

Since I was young, the annual trip to the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair has been one of the highlights of the year. Riding carnival rides, playing midway games, touring the barns, pens and other agricultural events, and of course, sampling the latest deep-fried-whatever. Now, my children are old enough to attend, and I'm sure we'll start some new traditions of our own.   Do you have any great traditions surrounding the Montgomery County Fair? What about favorite Fair memories?

Zombies Run Through the Kentlands

The walking dead still like a good workout every now and then.

It was a dark and stormy night, and the walking dead were out in the Kentlands. They wore spandex and reflective gear. At Thursday night's Zombie Fun Run, sponsored by Fleet Feet Sports in the Kentlands, runners, joggers and walkers gathered for a frightening workout even as storm clouds gathered overhead. The rain held off long enough for the costumed runners to make their way out into the night. Although not all were dressed as zombies, the participants certainly had the Halloween spirit.

Got a Hot Tip?
