Fairs, Markets, Comedy and More in Montgomery County This Weekend

Looking for something exciting to do this weekend? Check out some of the fun things going on around town.

Montgomery County Fair Where: 16 Chestnut St., Gaithersburg. When: Aug. 10 through 18. Fridays: 3 p.m. to midnight. Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to midnight. Why go: Check out the largest agricultural county fair in Maryland; features farm animals, rides, food and entertainment. Price: $10. Children 11 and under are free.   Kids Day: Costumes, Games and Family Fun Where: Briggs Chaney-Greencastle Farmers and Artisans’ Market in northeast Silver Spring, located at 3300 Briggs Chaney Rd. Family Fun this Weekend in Montgomery County

After appearing on NBC's The Sing Off, the Afro Blue Vocal Band returns to its home town. First formed at Howard University, this 10-member vocal jazz a cappella ensemble has won multiple awards and performed alongside such names as Smokey Robinson, Geri Allen and Bobby McFerrin. This a cappella evening also swings across the globe, bringing one of the best vocal groups in Italy - five young musicians who met at the Niccolai Paganini Conservatory of Music in Genoa.
